"Eleni Kelakos delivered one of the best days of staff training I have ever experienced in a business career spanning over 40 years. The subject matter was developing three minute pitches designed to help us sell our organization and services but in some ways the subject was of secondary importance. Eleni provided a class for the entire staff which included individuals who had never spoken in public before and were terrified at the prospect as well as others for whom public speaking is part of our job. Eleni.s insight into the needs of each individual was uncanny. The event was day long and it never dragged. It was fun as well as challenging and many members of the team actually learned from each other about our business. Most of all it was a bonding exercise that I believe will enable us to work more effectively as a team in the months ahead."

"Eleni's (in-house Training on Presentation Skills) showed our team how to turn a presentation into a conversation. Her techniques have helped us to be "in the room" with the audience and to truly communicate, not just present."

"(Your Be Here and Be Heard Training) was one of the best received classes we have ever held in our facility. All the attendees specifically asked us to run this class again and felt that it should be a requirement for anyone who is required to give presentations as part of their job."

The group dynamic is a powerful and transformative tool, especially useful in deepening interpersonal communication skills between members of a team. Within the context of a structured training, seminar or workshop, SPEEK uses experiential, group oriented, theatre-based exercises and improvisations to nudge participants out of their comfort zones and into new and exciting areas of self-expression. In these energized, interactive sessions, participants learn from - and rely on-each other, ultimately enhancing their ability to work together as a productive team.

A positive and dynamic facilitator, Eleni sometimes emphasizes her points by pulling out her acoustic guitar and singing her funny, thought-provoking original songs, or breaking into a Shakespeare monologue. Sessions are animated, exhilarating and fun.

Group training can be combined with supplemental individual personal coaching for even greater effect.

Trainings can range from one hour “lunch ‘n’ learns” to half day, one day and two day sessions.

Training Topics:

Be Here and Be Heard:  Acting Techniques to Help you Speak Like a Leader. Presentation techniques for Business leaders who want to speak fearlessly, memorably and persuasively.  Reflecting Eleni’s extensive background as a performing artist, the training is conducted like an acting class, with an emphasis on learning by doing, and through theatre-based tools and techniques.  To this end, attendees prepare and perform two different presentations, and receive thorough critiques, giving them a deeper understanding of their strengths and liabilities as presenters.  Attendees Learn:

  • Breathing and relaxation techniques for optimum ease and authenticity.
  • How to structure presentations for optimum impact.
  • “Right Speaking” and “Right Listening” techniques.
  • How and why to use personal stories to bring a message home.
  • How and why to create an individualized “presenter’s preparation toolkit.”
  • (Offered as a Half Day, One Day or Two-Day Session.  Note: Two Day session includes “Tips and Tools to Tame the Power Point Monster” segment).

Tips and Tools to Tame the Power Point Monster: Techniques to make power point slide presentations work for — and not against — you. Attendees prepare and present a 5-10 minute Power Point slide presentation, which will be thoroughly critiqued and evaluated. (Half Day or One Day). Attendees learn:

  • Tools and Techniques to shape and create a memorable and powerful Power Point presentation that puts you front and center.
  • Why less really is more.
  • How to make charts and numbers palatable and memorable.

  • How to use body language to better reflect one’s power and authority.
  • How to use your voice to command the attention it deserves.

There’s No Such Thing as Small Talk: Beyond “Hit and Run” Networking: Tools and techniques for better, more effective networking skills.   Participants learn techniques to help them network with greater skill, joy and authenticity, so that the seeds of business relationships are effectively planted for later cultivation.

  • Tools and techniques to help you breathe, relax and be truly “present.”
  • Proper listening and speaking techniques to help both you and your partner feel seen and heard.
